Attention, Ms. Decker

New Order - Crystal

Wendys has placed, in my hands, the most scrumptious fast food burger I have ever consumed. The hot side is, in fact, hot. The cold side is, in fact, cold. Crunchy lettuce and firm, ripe tomato slices. Crispy bacon, not at all soggy. And a bun still fluffy with bun-like goodness.

I understand that this burger is an exception to the rule. But the gauntlet has been thrown down. McDonalds has some catching up to do.

I really do. It started when

I really do. It started when I was 6 and my teenaged sister worked at the Wendy's down the road from our house. I got a single with cheese, ketchup only. And frostees!

Then I grew up and agreed that it would finally be appropriate to allow additional toppings. I moved on to a Big Bacon Classic with Mayonaise, Lettuce, Onions, Pickles and Ketchup.

And now, when I get a chance to discuss this with ohters, I do...because I miss Wendy's so. The only Wendy's in all of England, I swear, is in Heathrow Terminal 3. Please, if anyone wants to come visit me, do so...it will give me an excuse to go to Heathrow.

"We take eighteen ounces of sizzling ground beef, and soak it in rich, creamery butter, then we top it off with bacon, ham, and a fried egg. We call it the Good Morning Burger." -- The Simpsons

Mmmm, Big Bacon

Mmmm, Big Bacon Classic...

Speaking as a fast-food junkie, and even a Wendiphile, I have to wonder if being the best fast-food maker in the world is much better than being the best maneur collector in the world.

Yes, the Wendyburger, does,

Yes, the Wendyburger, does, indeed, kick some serious butt. However, I am more partial to the McDonald's cheeseburger with its tiny slivers of chopped oniony yumminess. These go down especially easy either before or during much drinking... or so I have heard. :)
I just happen to find the Wendy buns to be a bit too.... bunny?
The Whoppers from BK are just abhorrent, IMHO. Even drunkeness can't solve that taste.

Bunny. It's such a flexible

Bunny. It's such a flexible word.

Yes..... I was going to say

Yes..... I was going to say that they are just too much bun and too... sweet, almost. But bunny was just so much better :)

It slipped my mind that I've

It slipped my mind that I've not been eating red meat for the last 6 months.
Seriously, I have to do something about my attention span.

However, I'd still go for the fries. And the frostie.

Why....why is Andrea flying into Gatwick? The only restaurants at Gatwick are UK chains...I don't wanna go to Gatwick! I wanna go to Wendy's!

I've always been a whopper

I've always been a whopper fan... it probably comes from the fact that my mother is one too. I don't really like the taste of the actual meat in burgers, so the 'flame broiled' taste seems better to me.

But I'd rather have a Wendys spicy chicken sandwich. Those are nummy.

True dat.

True dat.

STIIIIIITCH! YAY! I just

STIIIIIITCH! YAY! I just had to "bury" my car, Stich.
Love that little bugger!

You must be strong. Resist

You must be strong. Resist the fatty goodness.

jess, yay! Guest appearances

jess, yay! Guest appearances by the delightful are always a treat!

It's okay, I took a nap, and the craving for a Big Bacon Classic is gone--still wouldn't mind the frostie, though.

And hey, tell your friends

And hey, tell your friends that I did not say it would be funny to go see The Ring. I already have enough of my legitimate foolishness to overcome, I don't need fake stupidity giving people more of a reason to think I'm a knob.

Thanks! Don't worry, I

Thanks! Don't worry, I blamed him anyway! Figured he was trying to scare me (or trick me into something that would eventually scare me)!

aaaah back again. feels so

aaaah back again. feels so good to be referred to and summoned while I was away. but alas I am back, and clearly my attention is had. this debate is pretty hot right now-no pun intended. our favorite, and definitely our fiercest competitor is Wendys. we are getting better, quicker, cleaner, friendlier. those are our main issues right now. for 43 years the focus was on growth. build build build. the customers will come. all the while slowly losing sight of customer service, quality, and restaurant cleanliness. the plan is pretty aggressive. this past year we fired/kicked out 156 franchisees who didn't have the focus we need. we're being more business savvy and making tough decisions. we still hold the lead by a long shot-but are well aware we need improvement to stay there. however, as Jim Cantalupo recently put it..... "When you realize that 6,000,000 people eat at McDonald's everyday and that 2002 netted our business nearly $1 billion in profits, clearly, we are also doing an awful lot right."

couldn't have put it better. PS - be sure to try the great salads coming out in 2 weeks...

Oh, I know! And he tries to

Oh, I know! And he tries to come off as such the innocent....

Yes, he tries, but we know

Yes, he tries, but we know better don't we! ;)

Hey! I gotta stand up for my

Hey! I gotta stand up for my man, Jeff. Seriously, Danielle, after all he's done for you, how can you even question his motives? Scare you? Pishah!

Furthermore, if he says "Aliens" is a movie about teamwork, determination, and the overthrow of sexual subjugation in the form of a strong female lead, then I'm gonna back him. And if you have any doubts about this, Miss Gundi, perhaps we can arrange a little meeting between you and ol' acid-breath herself...
