2007: More blogging, I promise

2006 was a pretty slow blogging year for me -- there were spikes as I churned out longish tech posts about Drupal, but beyond that the site was sadly neglected. With the arrival of my shiny new MacBook, though, I figured it was time to turn over a new leaf. I've installed Bleezer, a relatively slick little cross-platform blogging client, and I've upgraded the site to Drupal 5 for general spiffiness purposes. If anyone out there knows of a better one for OSX, feel free to comment...

Hopefully, I'll be disciplined to churn out a few regular updates every week, perhaps even a couple per day. Back in the Livejournal days that was common; posting a single link or two, then firing off a few thoughts, etc. The difference between that kind of informal style and the more rigorous essay-esque blogging is interesting.

Arrrrgh, blogging

I don't know how to get a consistent blogging jones working right. I personally ASPIRE to the deep, thoughtful, probing essays that are the type of thing I'm proudest of writing (and I think you are too) but what tends to be most effective (and what I tend to link back to the most) are the link-and-rant type things. And link-and-rant type things are easier. But they're also ill-disciplined, and they ebb and flow. Essays can be the product of discipline.

I suppose this post is one great big "I see you working, bro."

Let me know if you figure it out before I do.

Bleezer

So, do you know if Bleezer works on the new not-beta-anymore Google-Blogger? Because I tried Qumana a couple times and it doesn't seem to have those kinks worked out yet.

Blogging Tools

I'm the author of Bleezer and I'm working on support for the new Google Blogger as fast as I can, though Blogger seems to have some issues.

I can also recommend Ecto for OS X, though I think it costs about $30.

Thanks for trying Bleezer.
