bio
I'm a thirty-something software developer from the Chicago area, married to a gorgeous writer named Catherine and watched over by a pair of zany kittens named Maddie and Joe. I've got too too many irons in the fire, from tinkering with blog software to scripting a graphic novel with a friend to photography to writing.
I work for Lullabot, a software consultancy that helps develop the open source content management framework Drupal. We work with companies who are trying to build large sites with it, train teams who want to come up to speed on its APIs and the community that surrounds it, and also pour stupid amounts of spare time into making it cooler. I run my blog on Drupal, because I'm a nerd.
I grew up in a Charismatic Christian house, and came of age in the evangelical/fundamentalist culture of Protestant North America. I was a pre-teen republican activist who put my own parents' political enthusiasms to shame, and spent the rest of my time learning about Christian apologetics. Eventually, my study and my desire to know the answers to burning questions drove me into the philosophical wall -- I'm no longer a conservative, and I consider myself an agnostic. I write sporadically about my spiritual and philosophical journey on Growing Up Goddy, a group blog for evangelical expats.
