A proud moment

Catherine and I have been having a glorious time of it this weekend, relaxing and reading and picnicking and generally enjoying life. We took a stroll around Fabyan Park the other day and I caught a dragonfly chillin' out on a fencepost...

Cool coincidences

While skimming over the discussion forums at Drupal.org, I stumbled across a message by a new user about some problems uninstalling modules. It turned out the problems were related to my own baby, VotingAPI, and I stuck around to help the guy through some of the configuration hassles.

As it turns out, he's a photographer with a great set of images on flickr, and a photoblog with some impressive do-it-yourself projects like a homemade light ring and a quick-n'-dirty lightbox. Yesterday evening, I put together the lightbox and tried my hand at some photos with it. Awesome! With just $10 in white foamcore and a few reflector lights from Home Depot, I've got a super-bright space for taking macro shots.

Thanks, jyoseph!

Rockstars

Last night after work I popped over to the Warehouse to get some shots of Jason's band, The Satellite Picture Show. They have a new drummer since they took their last patch of pics, so they needed some updated shots of the band playing. We took a couple of hours and got some nice ones; hopefully they'll work well for them. I posted a few of my favorites on Flickr...Stare Down  Continue reading...

Walking home

There's an open field next to the office I work in, and over the course of the summer the patch of weeds in it has turned into a forest of sunflowers. I had my camera with me today, and was inspired -- I took a few shots of the flowers, then of other random objects I noticed on my walk home.

Ye Olde Flower

I've caved

After a long stretch of trying to roll my own photo library (and a stab at doing it with Drupal's image gallery features) I decided the time was right, and jumped onto the Flickr train. My machine at home is currently busy uploading something like 450 megs of JPEG goodness. Once it's all done, my stuff should be viewable on my Flickr homepage.

Ye Olde Pictures

The photos, you see, they are posted. At least, some of them. Not much in the way of description or annotation, but the assorted wedding and honeymoon pics are at jeffandcathereinegetmarried.com for your edification and amusement. Whee!
